Six tips for choosing
your wedding photographer.

Your wedding photographs stay with you long after the day. Choose a photographer whose images and approach suit you. Here are six points to discuss before booking.

Ask about your date

Start with the photographs and the person behind them

1. Find a style you love

Look at complete wedding series alongside individual favourites. Notice light, colours, portraits and informal moments. Is this how you want to remember your day?

2. Discuss experience and planning

Ask how the photographer plans a wedding day, follows the programme and handles changes. Describe your venues, travel and the moments you especially want covered.

3. Read other couples’ experiences

Client reviews and relevant references can tell you about working together, photography and delivery. Ask about the parts of the experience that matter most to you.

ORIGINAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY · SELECTED MOMENTS

A sense of the day.
And room to be yourselves.

A wedding series includes planned portraits and moments that happen along the way. Photographs from the same wedding help you assess the consistency of the photographer’s work.

4. Compare what the price includes

Request a complete quote. Compare shooting time, delivered image numbers, editing, travel and delivery time. Clarify any optional additions too.

5. Find communication that feels comfortable

You should be able to discuss wishes and expectations openly. Review your date, programme and priorities, and consider whether you feel comfortable with the photographer.

6. Agree how the images may be used

Ask how you may print, share and use the photographs. Discuss any use of your wedding images by the photographer, and put the agreements in writing.

YOUR DAY · YOUR PRIORITIES

A plan that leaves
room for your wedding.

Tell me which people and moments matter to you. Allow time for portraits and group photographs in your programme, while the rest of the photography follows the agreed coverage.

Useful points to clarify

Can we see a complete wedding series?

Yes, ask for relevant examples. A complete series gives a fuller picture of style and coverage than individual selected photographs.

What should we clarify about delivery?

Clarify delivered image numbers, editing, file formats and delivery time in the quote. These depend on the agreed photography.

What if the programme or weather changes?

Ask how changes to the programme, weather or access are handled. Agree possible alternatives for portrait locations and timing.

Can we arrange specific group photographs?

Yes. Tell me which people and images matter to you, and allow time for the agreed group photographs.

How do we take the next step?

Contact Mark with your date and programme to discuss availability, scope and pricing. Booking follows an agreement.
